Encounter Community exists to help kids, youth, and families pursue wholeness and a hope-filled future in every area of life.
We believe that growth happens best when people are supported in mind, body, and spirit, when they are known, encouraged, and given the tools to thrive.
Founded in Sherwood Park, Alberta, Encounter Community began as a small grassroots movement bringing people together through sports, education, and family connection. Today, it has grown into a network of programs serving thousands of families in Strathcona County, Fort Saskatchewan, and the greater Edmonton Area, and beyond. Encounter Community is designed to build character, strengthen relationships, and create lasting impact in the lives of kids, youth, and families.
We extend an invitation to build character and connection in healthy, growth-minded environments, nurturing the mind, body, and spirit as inspired by the teachings and example of Jesus.
While our programs are rooted in Christian faith, they welcome all families, regardless of background or belief, into environments where values like kindness, integrity, and compassion are lived out daily.

Encounter Community’s work is carried out through three key pillars that together shape an ecosystem of growth and transformation:
Encounter Sports
Uses the power of sport to teach discipline, teamwork, and resilience while shaping character and faith. Athletes are developed in mind, body, and spirit through mentorship, leadership, and community.
Encounter Education
Provides innovative learning environments for homeschool and alternative-education families. Students explore faith, creativity, and curiosity while growing in wisdom, confidence, and connection.
Encounter Parents
Equips and encourages parents through workshops, mentoring, and community gatherings. The focus is on strengthening families, supporting mental health, and helping parents lead with love and purpose.
We believe that real transformation happens through relationships, in the home, rink, classroom, gym, or around the table.

Our story is simple: we follow the example of Jesus, who met people in everyday life, cared deeply, and helped them discover who they were created to be. That same spirit continues to guide everything we do.
